The maintenance-free Railway Computer RSL-R 81 is equipped as standard with an Intel Atom (Apollo Lake-1) x7-E3950 or optionally x5-E3940 processor. The on-board computer thus manages the balancing act between high computing power and low power consumption.

The Railway Computer RSL-R 81 complies with the EN50155, Class OT4 standard. The robust box PC also offers power failure bridging of at least 10 milliseconds in accordance with EN50155, Class S2, as well as full 50155 compliance with regard to shock and vibration (EN61373), EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) and electrical insulation requirements. The industrial PC also complies with the EN45545-2 fire safety standard for railway vehicles.

The RSL-R 81 railway computer is specially designed for rolling stock applications. It has a galvanically isolated power supply input. In addition, the railway computer, including ignition controller, can be configured for DC voltage between 16.8 and 110 volts via wide-range inputs.

The railway computer can be equipped with GPS and LTE/GSM/UMTS functions for positioning and data transmission. Connection to typical railway BUS systems such as Real-Time Ethernet, TCN, WTB, ProfiNET or MVB is via optional expansion cards, which can be easily integrated.
